In NO Particular Order: #Black #Working #Wife #Mama 

My life is multifaceted and I always feel limited by my professional blogs: http://www.jaleesabbooks.com/ and https://irrevocablegrace.blogspot.com/. I've decided to create a personal blog that showcased my day-to-day life and interest as a #black, #millennial,  #working, #wife and #mama. I wanted to create a safe space for myself to share whatever comes to mind in no particular order. 

#Me 

I'm 31, born, bread, jellied and jammed in North Carolina. NC State College of Design graduate I currently work in child welfare. I've been married to my bestie James for six years and we have two lovely children who I'll refer to as E(daughter, 10)  and B(son, 4). We adopted our children from foster care in 2018. I'll talk about that in detail later for sure. I have two dachshund-mixed breed doggies Harlem (8yrs) and Compton (3yrs). I adopted them both from local animal shelters. We're a crazy bunch full of love. I refer to my family as the circus because it gets CRAZY sometimes but it's all in fun and love. 

I'm a plus size food lover, and novice Vera Bradley collector. I have a serious sweet tooth and I  love social media (@jaybmaye) clothing, floral patters, all things fem and women's empowerment. I love black culture from Africa to the Bronx. I'm a hip-hop fan and enjoy a good rap battle. I wish I had bars but I'll settle as just a fan. I love to read black lit and I collect children's books. With a professional career that began in early childhood education I have a soft spot for young children and teachers. One upon a time before the Circus I was an artist designer. I had a few solo shows but simply don't have time to pull out paint and canvas after work or before my daughter's basketball practice. So for now I'm simply an art connoisseur. A native of Winston-Salem, THE city of the arts I say art is just in my blood. That's me for now, in no particular order . . .
